Dr. S. Don Nadler, President and Chief Technology Officer, received his Ph.D. from Concordia University of Montreal, specializing in diode laser techniques for the detection of trace molecules in the atmosphere. Dr. Nadler was awarded a prestigious NRC postdoctoral fellowship at NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center, where he specialized in spectroscopic analysis of planetary atmospheres. After his postdoctoral fellowship, Dr. Nadler joined Unisearch Associates Inc. and, as their Senior Scientist and group leader, he designed, developed and constructed, diode laser and fibre optics based analytical instruments for the detection of trace air pollution. While at Unisearch, Dr. Nadler remained active at NASA, in the capacity of a Science and Engineering Consultant, where he participated in the design of both ground based and space flight infrared spectrometers. In 1997, Dr. Nadler joined Scintrex Ltd. As the Director of Engineering and R&D, where he supervised and coordinated the R&D team. This team was focused on
Dr. Nadler created LTG as a spin-off company from IDS in 1998-99, shortly after IDS acquired Scintrex Ltd. Our Team Education and Experience - the team at LTG has 190 years of combined work experience. The education level of the staff is exceptional, with three members having obtained their PhD's and more than half of the staff having at least a master's degree. Spectroscopy - the company founder and President is one of the pioneers in TDLAS spectroscopy and the company's current products are high-end, CO2 lasers systems used primarily in scientific spectroscopy applications. Module Design - the lead engineers at LTG are experienced module designers, originally from the telecommunication market, and have designed optical amplification modules (EDFA's) for companies such as JDS Uniphase, Nortel and ECI. They bring a deep-rooted understanding of the capabilities of commercial grade tunable diode lasers that will be crucial to extracting the cost reductions necessary for the success of LTG. RF Design - LTG has over 18 years of RF design experience on staff, a skill that is necessary in the TDLAS design given the frequency ranges of the signals and the level of signal processing required to extract precise information. DSP Software/Hardware Design - the board level design team at LTG has a combined 50 years of hardware and software design experience, with half of this experience in the development of application software for micro-controllers and Digital Signal Processors.
